Myth VR
Myth VR is mythological 6DOF virtual reality experience inspired by Chinese folklore, sacred architecture, digital deities, set in a surreal sonic landscape. The project was made in collaboration with XR developer Ingram Mao and Peking Opera performer Rose Wu, whose voice guides participants through this journey. The participant assumes the role of a mortal being who is invited to tour the Court of Hundred Gods. The journey begins with the participant seated in a carriage and traveling along a divine procession. When the carriage reaches its final destination, the participant is invited to step out and perform a sequence of rituals to pay respect to the fictional deities.
Each experience is slightly different, as the size, textures, and positions of the 3D models during the procession are randomly generated to establish a micro-universe of distinct deities and architecture.
